The God of Christians is not a God who is simply the author of mathematical truths. He is not merely a God who exercises his providence over the life and fortunes of men. He is a God of love and of comfort, a God who fills the soul and heart of those whom he possesses with confidence and love, who renders them incapable of any other end than himself.—Blaise Pascal, 1670
Corporate worship on Sunday is the engine and centerpiece of Evergreen Church. This is because Jesus reorders our hearts’ desires so that we want him and his glory above all. Out of life’s lonely wreckage, he is shaping us into a beautiful, worshiping community.
Our weekly worship follows a dramatic pattern. God calls, and we respond. Below are the basic features of our worship. Periodically, we also include baptisms, public thanksgivings and other opportunities to celebrate God’s faithfulness.
The high point is fellowship with God at His table. Christians have used various terms to name this feature—communion, the Lord’s Supper, eucharist. Regardless of the name, this simple meal of bread and wine is a symbol and seal of God’s great love. As in all of life, so especially here: God feeds us, and we feast with Him.

A note about our singing. We draw from a range of songs and enjoy an eclectic style of music. The Trinity Hymnal grounds us in the old, wide stream of God’s people. Groups such as Cardiphonia, Bifrost Arts and Indelible Grace open us to fresh expressions of sung worship. God has given us a talented group of musicians playing piano, guitar, bass, cello, violin and other instruments. We invite you to join us as we sing in worship!
